The Kinderbaum orphanage will include a Safari Lodge, or Game Farm, that will serve to provide further funding for the orphanage activities. Through this combination of the orphanage with the Safari Lodge and also through the daily contact with visitors from around the world,  we hope to offer the children the possibility to be “adopted” or “sponsored” by a foreign benefactor and to have experiences abroad once they come of age. Through the Lodge we also want to provide the children with professional skills for life after the orphanage. At the Lodge, the children will be able to work as Park rangers, Gardeners, Hotel managers and administrators. The skills acquired during their time at Kinderbaum will eventually allow them to lead an independent, successful life after the orphanage. All revenues from the Lodge will be employed on the improvement of the orphanage.

On the long term, we hope that this financial structure will allow the system to become self-supportive and thus require minimum maintenance efforts.

Il progetto prevede di far nascere la prima struttura nella provincia sud-africana di Mpumalanga unitamente alla creazione di un Safari-Lodge che, ospitando turisti provenienti da tutte le parti del mondo, possa garantire un introito economico utile al sostegno della “Città dei Bambini”. Mpumalanga, grazie al Krüger National Park, è la regione con il maggior numero di animali di grandi dimensioni.
L’ubicazione infatti delle due strutture sarà nell’area limitrofa al Krüger National Park così che i visitatori possano vivere l’Africa in tutte le sue sfumature ed ammirare gli animali più belli della terra: elefanti, leoni e giraffe.
A dare pieno sostegno all’iniziativa del Dr. Schmitz è stata assicurata l’adesione del direttore del Krüger National Park e del governo sud-africano.
La sinergia con l’adiacente National Park è molto importante affinché i bambini ed i visitatori possano usare tutte le sue infrastrutture.
Oltre ad un alloggio, assistenza medica ed educazione scolastica i bambini orfani potranno quindi avere la possibilità di imparare professioni artigianali e amministrative.
Il fine è quello di garantire loro un futuro a tutti gli effetti indipendente.
Con il supporto degli “amici” della Fondazione, tra i quali grandi agenzie di viaggi e catene d’alberghi, si potrà procedere alle prenotazioni delle Lodge e tutti i visitatori che Vi allogeranno potranno così vedere direttamente sul posto gli importanti successi del progetto Kinderbaum.
